You’ll need a package of mozzarella cheese strings and some Italian style bread crumbs. You can use plain bread crumbs if you like, but those will need to be seasoned with salt and pepper.
Cut the cheese strings in half and place in the freezer for 20 – 30 minutes. The original recipe indicated to freeze for 15 minutes to keep the cheese from oozing out while baking. Some of mine oozed quite a bit, so I’m recommending freezing them a little longer.
Place the flour, egg whites, and bread crumbs in 3 separate bowls.
Roll the cheese sticks in each one, and place on the baking sheet. Bake for 10 – 15 minutes.
Serve with Marinara or any other dipping sauce you like.

I LOVE mozzarella sticks!!! Thanks for sharing, Anita. I will be making these for sure. Isn't it great that they're baked. Frying makes such a mess!

That's a great idea for lunch! I'm always wondering what to have as I don't want a lot but I still need something to eat about that time of day. That's a great recipe too because it's not fried and the ingredients are easy to get. Plus, easy to make! Thanks Anita…love it!

I love mozzarella sticks, but haven't had any in a long time since the ones at restaurants and stores have gluten. I never thought about making them myself, but I could use gluten free bread crumbs to make my own. Thank you for this great idea Antia! Again, I appreciate you linking to my party!

I saw your post on Shannon's Cozy Home Scenes party. I made some cheese sticks a couple of weeks ago that I deep fried. They were really good but oh so messy!! I'm glad I found the baked recipe and will definitely try it out. This one goes on my Pinterest board 😉
