My book club ventured out of town yesterday for an adventure in Oxford, MS. We walked the square, making stops at the three locations of Square Books. I think we were all a little dazed by the wonderful selection of books, and many of them signed copies. Bookstore visits have been scarce for us since our beloved Barnes and Noble was blown away by a tornado in March 2020.
After exploring the square, we paid our respects at William Faulkner’s grave, then toured the beautiful and peaceful Rowan Oaks. The house has about 90% of the orginal furniture, plus Faulkner’s outline notes written on the wall.
Good company, good times.

We missed you! We’ll have to go back. Lunch at McEwen’s was worth the drive!
