These Cheese Biscuits are an easy quick bread to add to a week night dinner. The recipe is patterned after and produces a form of the famous Red Lobster cheese biscuits. I have no idea how they make theirs at the restaurant, but this recipe is super simple to make at home.
Cheese Biscuits
Biscuits
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup grated, sharp cheddar cheese
Topping
1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) butter, melted
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Prepare a baking sheet by spraying with non stick cooking spray.
The ingredients needed are 2 cups of Bisquick, 2/3 cup milk, and 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese. I used mild cheddar cheese in place of the sharp cheddar because that’s what I happened to have.
Combine the ingredients in a medium bowl.
Drop by large spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet.
Bake in preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes. While biscuits are baking, prepare topping.
The ingredients for the topping are 1/4 cup butter, 1 tablespoon parsley flakes, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning.
Melt the butter, then stir in the seasonings.
When done, remove biscuits from the oven. While still hot, brush on melted butter mixture.
Serve hot with your meal.
This is a kid-friendly recipe that young aspiring cooks might want to try. With only a little adult supervision while melting the butter and using the oven, kids can handle the other steps of the recipe easily with good success.
