These are for my daughter Angela’s family. She decorates for Christmas with a lot of true red and gingerbread decor. She has dishes with gingerbread people that are so cute and several other gingerbread items. I think these stockings will fit in very well.
To make them I cut a boot shape from red felt. I used the stocking that I had made for Angela when she was a baby as my pattern. She still hangs that one up at Christmas. The finished length of the boot is 18 inches. The finished width of the foot is 11 inches, and the top of the boot is 9 inches wide.
When I was making the Gingerbread Aprons recently, I bought an extra panel (half price) because I liked the size of the gingerbread people on the fabric. The only other fabric I could find was printed with teensy weensy gingerbread people. I used the apron panel for cut outs for the stockings. I used the apron tie pieces for the top bands across the stockings.
Other supplies I used: Wonder-Under (my new BFF), assorted sequins and beads, gold rick rack, bells, ribbon, and clear nylon thread.
I put each name on with gold sequins and beads, and then I remembered, there is one more in the family . . .
. . . their Cocker Spaniel, Buddy.

Offspring of Aunt Nubby here. One of my strongest childhood memories is of staying up late at night on Christmas Eve while mom finished sewing my name in sequins onto the stocking she had just made so Santa would know it was mine. Ginger and Charlie are going to love these.
