A granola bar makes a quick breakfast before school, a great lunch box snack, or an after school treat. These bars are packed with all kinds of healthy ingredients, and what kid doesn’t need to have healthier options? Kids like to try foods they have helped to make, and this recipe is easy enough for kids to make themselves with just a little supervision.
The ingredients need to be firmly packed into the baking dish. This small pastry roller helps to pack it in the pan tightly.
After baking, cool to room temperature then place pan in freezer until firm.

These look great! I have always wanted to try making my own granola bars. I have an allergy to almonds but not other nuts…which do you think would be a good substitute?

Nut allergies can be a problem! One of my grandsons is allergic to them too. Probably pecans would go with the cherries in this recipe if you like pecans. Let me know if you try them with another nut how they turn out!

I like that this recipe doesn't need too much time in the oven like a lot of others I've seen, I'd love to try this version!
