My grandson Landon has been staying at my house during the day while on his school vacation this summer, but his summer vacation is quickly coming to an end. The first day of school for him will be tomorrow, August 11, and he will begin first grade. He had an idea today that we needed to do one more cooking project before his summer vacation is over, so for his last “official” day of summer he decided he wanted to make pigs in a blanket for lunch. When I asked him if he knew how to make them, he said, “You just take a hot dog and melt the bun on it.” I thought perhaps we needed a recipe, so I found one for Crescent Dogs at pillsbury.com.
Cut a slit into each hot dog, insert 3 of the cheese slices.
Wrap each hot dog with a crescent roll triangle and place on a sheet pan, cheese side up. I used parchment paper to line the pan to save time on clean up.
