This is a recipe that I once made much more often than I do now. When my children were small with playmates, there always seemed to be a hungry group playing in the yard, so cookies and snacks of all kinds were received with much enthusiasm. Kids love these Peanut Butter Snacks, and they take very little time to make. They’re also a hit with me because they only use four ingredients, and I have only one dirty pan to wash when they’re done.
Peanut Butter Snacks
1 cup sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
2 cups peanut butter
4 cups corn flakes cereal
Assemble the four simple ingredients.
We will be using 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of white corn syrup, 2 cups of peanut butter (I like crunchy), and 4 cups of corn flakes cereal.
In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar and the corn syrup.
Bring sugar and syrup to a boil.
Remove from heat. Add peanut butter. Peanut butter is messy like shortening when you measure it. Don’t forget to line your measuring cup with plastic wrap!
Stir until smooth.
Add corn flakes.
Blend cornflakes into peanut butter mixture.
Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.
Makes about 5 dozen.
Let them cool on the wax paper until they are firm. Even if there are no kids playing in your yard, I think you’ll enjoy these little Peanut Butter Snacks.
